Karl Hagenauer

After searching and researching I finally found a sculptor that depicts, in his work what it is that I am trying to capture in my work. Karl Hagenauer is the sculpture from which I will now draw my inspiration. Simple figures performing various tasks, showing the movement of the verb, showing the action of what it is that people do. I will be creating the movements of a single stroke that a rower takes in order to row.  

Pablo Picasso: Simplicity

I will be replicating this idea of simplicity with different graphics, which will tell story about Peru. I will continue to make my dinner set out of clay and possibly a pitcher. Picasso used very vivid colors on his work, I will try my best to illustrate and decorate the dinner set in various colors. 

Michelabgelo and drapery

Leah by Michelangelo. This was presented with a couple other sculptures. What I like about this is the drapery that is shown along with the anatomical elements shinning through the clothing. I hope to emulate something similar to this drapery in my project.

Bernini

Apollo and Daphne by Bernini is a life sized marble sculpture made for Cardinal Scipione depicting the nymph Daphne being turned into a laurel tree, pursued in vain by Apollo God of the sun. I chose this scukpture because I love the detail and emotions being expressed through his work as well as the metamorphosis that is occurring as the woman is transforming into a tree.

The Circus

 

Alex Calder was very well known for his miniature circus that he created. To take from this work I will be creating my own miniature lab bench, which is kinda like a circus if you ask me. The lab materials will be made of wire, and the lab bench will be made of clay.
